Real-time Structural Stability of Domes through Limit Analysis: Application to St. Peter’s Dome

چکیده

A digital tool is presented and made available for the rapid structural assessment of historic masonry domes. It especially suited domes that present long meridian cracks; ergo partitioned slices governed by a pushing failure mode. The proposed procedure considers Heyman’s no-tension mechanical model has been implemented within user-friendly visual programming environment. numerical approach includes parametric modelling mechanism allows exploring domain solutions using kinematic theorem limit analysis. heuristic search method subsequently adopted to refine geometry collapse compute value horizontal trust. Validation results achieved considering St. Peter’s dome. As reported in literature, behaviour this dome shifted from rigid shell-type — stiffened hoop stresses towards type cracks. Unlike time-consuming advanced methods analysis, users perform few seconds offers possibility including: (i) dome’s drum if applicable; (ii) rings as strengthening measure, whose number, position (dome or drum) material (capacity) are user-defined. goal make easily freely at disposal students, researchers, engineers.

Real-Time Kinematic Network of Tehran, from Design to Application

Following the request of the Tehran municipality and in order to provide the spatial information required in their various projects, a real-time kinematic network has been designed for Tehran. Based on the existing measures such as the dilution of precision at the network point positions, two different designs have been proposed. A minimum number of six GNSS stations are used in both of the pro...

Gneiss domes and gneiss dome systems

Various mechanisms have been proposed for the dynamic cause and kinematic development of gneiss domes. They include (1) diapiric fl ow induced by density inversion, (2) buckling under horizontal constriction (i.e., extension perpendicular to compression), (3) coeval orthogonal contraction or superposition of multiple phases of folding in different orientations, (4) instability induced by vertic...

Evolution of North Himalayan gneiss domes: structural and metamorphic studies in Mabja Dome, southern Tibet

Field, structural, and metamorphic petrology investigations of Mabja gneiss dome, southern Tibet, suggest that contractional, extensional, and diapiric processes contributed to the structural evolution and formation of the domal geometry. The dome is cored by migmatites overlain by sillimanite-zone metasedimentary rocks and orthogneiss; metamorphic grade diminishes upsection and is defined by a...

Stability Analysis of Real - Time Systems :

Both crisp and fuzzy rule-based expert systems are increasingly used in the real-time environments. For both types of systems the stability and nite response time are required. It is therefore crucial for both to provide tools that perform stability analysis. This paper shows how the analysis tools built for crisp real-time rule-based system might be used for fuzzy systems as well. Major diiere...
